Hello families,
This past weekend’s tournament was a great success and we couldn't have done it without the help from our volunteers - THANK YOU! Also, great job to all of our teams that participated in the tournament! They all competed and played well, and it was great to see so many people in the gyms supporting our youth teams! In addition, thank you to the referees who did an amazing job all weekend! Lastly, thank you to the following who have contributed in one way or another to our season and/or to our tournament:
Please watch for communication tomorrow, related to pictures and apparel.
Thank you,
SRRYBO Board
Good afternoon families,
Please see the below message for notes on the latest practice schedule, Dibs opportunities, and MYAS registration.
Practices: practice schedules for the next 2 weeks have been posted to the website.
- Girls teams: https://www.srrybo.org/page/show/3684884-girls-travel-teams
- Boys teams (and note that 4th and 5th grade boys teams are now split): https://www.srrybo.org/page/show/3684850-boys-travel-teams
Dibs/Volunteering: our SRRYBO tournament is this weekend and it is a great opportunity to help out and complete your family's requirement of 1 volunteer event. There are still quite a few Dibs available, especially for Sunday. Dibs can be claimed at: https://www.srrybo.org/dib_sessions
MYAS registration: each family should have received an MYAS team invitation email on November 5th. After receiving this email, you will need to create an MYAS account (https://myas.registerplay.com/auth/register). Once you've created an account, you need to add your child(ren) to their account so that they can join their team. Note that families may already have MYAS accounts from other sports, such as baseball and softball; if you already have an account, you can login with that account. Please note that the MYAS deadline to join your team is November 20th.
As always, please contact srrybo47@gmail.com with any questions.
Thank you,
SRRYBO Board

Hello families,
Thank you for being part of SRRYBO! We trust that your kids have enjoyed and benefitted from their exposure to youth basketball. In order for SRRYBO to not only grow, but to continue into the future, your assistance is needed. We are needing to fill the fundraising coordinator, scheduling director, treasurer, and sports engine/website director positions (all 2 year term). A description of the positions can be found on our website at: https://www.srrybo.org/board.
Many volunteers have worked diligently for SRRYBO to get to where it is now; however, we need new volunteers to keep the organization moving forward.
We encourage anyone interested in the positions to contact the board at: srrybo47@gmail.com, as well as attend the upcoming election at our October 4th board meeting at 6:30 pm at the Sauk Rapids VFW.
Thank you, and Go Storm!
Rosters for the 2023-2024 season have been posted.
Note that the 4th grade boys and 5th grade boys’ teams will practice for the first 2 weeks and then coaches will evenly split each of those grade's teams. At that point, these rosters will be posted to the website as green and gold teams. For the time being, all 4th grade boys are listed on the 4th grade boys green team; all 5th grade boys are listed on the 5th grade boys green team.
The board is working on assigning coaches to the teams and will send out communication on that in the upcoming weeks.
Please contact srrybo47@gmail.com with any questions.
Thank you and Go Storm!
Please see below for important details regarding evaluations and the parent information meeting.
Please contact the board with any questions at: srrybo47@gmail.com
Evaluations will be held on Sunday, 9/10 at SRRHS from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. Makeup evaluations will be held on Monday, 9/11 at SRRMS from 6:00 – 7:30 PM. Note that evaluations are done only for 6th, 7th, and 8th grader teams that require splitting into multiple teams. More details on evaluations will be made available as the dates get closer.
Parent Information meeting: 9/10 from 5:30 - 8:30 pm at SRRHS (during evaluations) - collecting volunteer checks, 10,000 Shot Forms, and jersey try on. Note that this will be open house style so parents shouldn’t be expected to attend for the entire time.
Reminder that there is still time for your children to complete the 10,000 Shot Club challenge! More information can be found at https://www.srrybo.org/
Please contact the board with any questions at: srrybo47@gmail.com
Thank you, and Go Storm!
To keep the kids thinking about basketball and staying active, SRRYBO is continuing the 10,000 shot challenge. This will run from 5/1/23 through 9/30/23 and is open to all SRRYBO youth in grades 3-8 (for 2023-2024 school year) who will be registering for the upcoming season. All players who complete the challenge will be rewarded with their choice of a SRRYBO 10,000 Shot Club hooded sweatshirt or a pair of SRRYBO socks.
Please see the below forms for additional information. Only the signed 10,000 Shot form will need to be turned in. The shot tracker is only provided to help track shots and does not need to be turned in.
Forms will be collected and the rewards will be handed out in the fall - look for communication later in the summer/fall.
Go STORM!
Rosters: thank you to everyone who participated in player evaluations this past weekend. We hope to have rosters finalized by the end of next week. We will contact families once these have been finalized and they will also be posted to our website.
Election: there are opportunities to become a member of the SRRYBO Board, with the Treasurer and Secretary positions (both 2 Year term) being open. A description of the positions can be found on our website at: https://www.srrybo.org/board. The election will be held at our October 5th board meeting and we encourage anyone interested in the positions to contact the board at: srrybo47@gmail.com. In addition, if anyone is interested in helping with the board as a non-voting member, please contact the board.
Dibs: going forward, if you sign up for a Dibs event and do not show up, your $100 volunteer deposit check will be cashed. Please note that you can cancel your Dibs sessions through Sports Engine (or email the board directly) ahead of time if something comes up. Doing this allows us to plan and lets others pick up the session. As stated previously, there will be many Dibs events available during our November 19/20 tournament.
If you missed the Parent Information meeting or evaluations, you will need to submit a $100 volunteer deposit check before your child will be allowed to play.
Please see below for important details regarding player eligibility.
Due to recent MYAS requirements (https://myas.org/mn-youth-basketball-alliance/archive/revised-myba-team-composition/), students are now required to play for the association where they attend school (previously it could be where they attend school or where they live). If your child is registered, but does not attend an ISD47 school, please contact the board immediately (srrybo47@gmail.com).
Please contact the board with any questions at: srrybo47@gmail.com
Dibs: Each family is required to volunteer for 1 event. Please go to https://www.srrybo.org/dib_sessions and Sign In to view and claim available Dibs sessions. Note that if you sign up for a Dibs event and do not show up, your volunteer deposit check will be cashed. Please note that you can cancel your Dibs sessions through Sports Engine (or email the board directly) ahead of time if something comes up. Doing this allows us to plan and lets others pick up the session.
